You can also enjoy an IMAX film at the theater located right within the aquarium. You will find it to be great fun for the entire family. If you are traveling with children another stop you should definitely include is the Connecticut Science Center. This is a brand new museum with so much going on there. And last but certainly not least, The Mark Twain House and Museum is a great place to visit. There are literally thousands of artifacts there, including the historic home of Samuel L. Clemens. You can take a guided tour through the house to learn so many interesting facts and so much about its history. Making advance reservations is recommended. Florida has many great museums, theme parks, and zoos to not only educate and entertain them but also plant the seeds of possible career options.

Science:

Florida is an epicenter for the study of science and is home to the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI), the Orlando Science Center, and the Museum of Arts and Sciences in Daytona. MOSI offers wind generators, the BioWorks Butterfly Garden, the Saunders Planetarium and the IMAX dome theater. The Orlando Science center is a non-profit center that is used to promote public understanding of science and is a great place to take the children for an affordable and educational day in the sunny tourist target of Orlando.
Daytona isn’t just known for its NASCAR races and beaches; it’s also the location of the Museum of Arts and Sciences (MOAS). MOAS is an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution and is one of the most educational and interesting centers for science and art in the nation. Anywhere you go in Florida you can visit an educational science center such as MOSI or the Kennedy Space Center and still have just as much fun as Disney or Universal.
Kennedy Space center is one of the most historic locations in not only Florida but the United States as well. The Kennedy Space Center is the NASA run museum of aerospace engineering and science located in Merritt Island, just North of Cape Canaveral. The center attracts tourism all year and has also seen the launch of many shuttles. Only a one hour drive the from the Orlando area the Kennedy Space Center is a great educational trip for every kid that grew up wanting to be an astronaut.

Art:

Art and Art History are becoming increasingly important areas of education that parents like to introduce to their children at an early age. Florida is full of art and culture to learn about at centers such as the world-famous Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg and the Orlando Museum of Art. The Salvador Dali Museum in St. Pete is the second largest collection of original Salvador Dali pieces and is a great introduction to the famous surrealist artist.
The Orlando Museum of Art not only has paintings and sculptures but also houses local and regional art of great significance as well as showcasing architecture and graphic art as well. Zoos:

Florida isn’t just a rollercoaster of theme parks, water parks, beaches, and sports teams. There is much culture and educational entertainment to be found within its borders. USA Longest Trails

The USA’s longest footpaths

The United States is a huge country that still has large areas of wilderness. It was the first country to create a National Park and has always been a leader when it comes to outdoor sporting opportunities- there are fantastic places to ski, hike, climb, kayak, surf, and even go caving. With this in mind it’s not too surprising to find that some of the world’s longest hiking trails are in the US.

Without doubt, the best known long distance footpath in the USA is the Appalachian Trail. In fact, it’s one of the most famous hiking trails in the world. It has a venerable history (work began in 1921) and runs across some 2180 miles of mountainside, woodland, and meadow in 14 different states. Most of those who attempt the whole thing start in Georgia in early spring and hope to make it through to the finish point in Maine before the next winter sets in.

It takes about 6 months for the average thru-hiker to complete the AT, and that figure is just for those who are successful. A couple of thousand start out each year with the full intention of finishing but about 75% never make it to the other end.

While the Appalachian Trail’s 2180 miles is a very respectable length for a hike, it’s far from the longest continuous trail in the US. There are two contenders for that title. The first is the American Discovery Trail, which runs across the country from the east coast to the west, taking in 15 states along the way. Unlike the AT, Discovery Trail is multi-use and largely open to bicyclists, horse riders, and other non-motorised forms of transport, and it passes through towns and cities as well as protected wilderness areas.

The Great Western Loop is about the same length as the American Discovery Trail. It’s a footpath linking the Pacific Crest Trail, Continental Divide Trail, Arizona Trail, Pacific Northwest Trail and Grand Enchantment Trail. The Pacific Crest Trail alone is about 2650 miles long and the Continental Divide Trail will be somewhere around 3100 miles long when it has been completed.

Like many of the longest trails, the Continental Divide and American Discovery Trails are works in progress. Demand is growing steadily, as greater numbers of Americans lace up their hiking boots and more visitors come from other countries to try their stamina on America’s long distance footpaths.

The vast majority of the hikers who enjoy trails like the AT and Pacific Crest Trail pick a short section that can be completed in a day, a weekend, or no more than a week or two. Walking the whole length isn’t a requirement, and those who manage to make it through a 2000 mile footpath have accomplished something pretty impressive. It’s never easy. There are steep sections to negotiate (always with a heavy backpack) and blisters to struggle with. Medical help can be a long way away, and so can fresh supplies. Hike for a week and you might be lucky enough to have clear skies all the way. Hike for six months and you’re sure to encounter some very bad weather sooner or later.

But on the other hand, walkers on these trails get to see sights few of us ever dream of, and spot all kinds of wildlife, from bears to songbirds to salamanders, and there is a certain peace in being called upon to do nothing more than put one foot in front of the other all day for a few months. Hiking a long distance footpath can be a deeply rewarding experience.
